What could be more American than getting outside to have fun with family and friends on the 4th of July? The weather is warm, the kids are off school, and everyone’s ready for summertime fun while celebrating the country. Fun outdoor games specifically tailored to kids and teens offer everything you want in a festive, celebratory spirit. These nine ideas will get you started.

1 – Patriotic Skate Parade

Get everyone a pair of Nattork roller skates – Red & Blue – for the occasion. Wear the same color outfits, too. Carry flags, streamers, and other props for this great Fourth of July event. The whole town can get involved.

2 – Decorated Bike and Walk Parade

Not everyone in town may be lucky enough to have roller skates. You can also organize a parade with bikes decorated for the holiday. Walkers are welcome to join in, which makes it a whole family and community affair.

3 – USA Obstacle Course

With their Nattork roller skates for kids on or try an obstacle course on foot. Just make it unique to the country and its history. At the very least, use red, white, and blue objects to glide, step, or jump around.

4 – Red, White, and Blue Water Balloon Toss

Pair kids and teens of similar ages or have the older ones help the youngsters during this choice of family fun activities. It’s a great way to stay cool in the hot summer sun, too.

5 – Bean Bag Toss

Either kids and teens can toss the stars and striped patterned bean bags at each other, or you can set up cornhole games or other targets to aim at.

6 – USA Scavenger Hunt

Hide holiday objects or things representing the country and states around the house and yard. Hand out a checklist and start the hunt. For older teens, consider trivia questions or riddles to solve to find the items.

7 – Sack Race

All you need for this idea on the list of Fourth of July events are a bunch of large sacks to step into. Kids can even take the time to decorate their own with paint or streamers before you begin.

8 – Flag Relay Races

Instead of a classic baton to pass from one runner to the other, use American flags instead. This works well for runners and roller skaters alike. Make sure everyone has a properly fitting Nattork skate helmet to stay safe on the holiday.

9 – Backyard Tic-Tac-Toe

Anywhere with a large enough space for a 3x3 foot chalk grid works great for these fun family activities. Play kids against teens, parents against kids, or boys against girls if you’d like. People stand in their squares to claim the spot.

No matter what you and your family does when it comes to 4th of July fun outdoor games, always think of safety first. Check the area carefully, only use safe decorations, and opt for Nattork protective packs for all roller skaters. These rules will help ensure all kids and teens have a fun, patriotic time instead of ruining the holiday with an injury. Celebrate summer, the United States, and family fun this year.
